How could it be otherwise, Encamp offers a wide range of cycling routes, as well as all types of via ferratas and hiking itineraries.
Cycling routes for all levels
Unlike what you might think at first seeing the type of roads that border Encamp, the parish offers several cycle routes of different levels. Without a doubt, the Encampada route par excellence is the Encamp-Els Cortals itinerary. This route goes from the CG-2 at the roundabout at the Encamp exit towards France, in front of the Funicamp building at 1,329 meters, to the CS-220 in Els Cortals de Encamp, at 2,083 meters. It goes without saying that this cycling route is highly difficult, with inclines ranging between 5.4% and 10.2%. The average gradient of the ascent is 8.5% with a cumulative gradient of 754 meters during the 8.9 kilometers of the route.
On the other hand, the Encamp-Collada de Beixalís route also represents a significant challenge for experienced cyclists. In this case, we are talking about an itinerary that begins on the CS-210 from Encamp, at 1,240 meters, and ends at the Beixalís pass, at 1,796 meters. The itinerary has a positive gradient of 556 meters, with a median inclination of 8.4% and a total distance of 6.6 kilometers. It must be said that at some point the maximum gradient exceeds 10%. In a similar way to the Cortals de Encamp route, throughout the entire journey you can enjoy incredible views of the entire Encamp valley.
Cycling to Encamp for the whole family
If you want to do a much more accessible cycling itinerary through Encamp, the perfect proposal is the BTT route along the Camino de Les Pardines. It is an almost flat route, ideal for doing with the family. This route goes from the Borda de Les Pardines car park, located at 1,630 meters, to the Engolasters lake, at 1,620 meters. It is 3 kilometers long and only has a slope of 10 meters. The approximate time to complete it is approximately 45 minutes. Again, during the route you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views over all of Encamp.
